RIP to the legendary comedy actor Vivek sir.

His cause of death is said to be unrelated to Vivek receiving a coronavirus vaccination on Thursday.

Dr Raju Sivasamy, Vice President of SIMS Hospital in Vadapalani, India, said that his cardiac arrest was down to an acute coronary syndrome with a cardiogenic shock.

Vivek is believed to have had "mild elevated blood pressure" when he was hospitalised.

A statement released by SIMS Hospital stated that he passed away at 4.35am.

Just two days before his death, the actor had been named as the state’s ambassador for creating public health informative messages, after he received his vaccine and encouraged people to accept theirs.

Vivek had opted to be vaccinated at a government-run hospital, rather than a private hospital, in order to raise awareness of the vaccination programmes.

Shortly after being jabbed, he said: "The government hospitals provide healthcare services to the majority of poor people. Many have doubts about vaccination and its side effects.

"There are also several rumours doing the rounds, I want to put an end to all the rumours.
