X, formerly known as Twitter, is often described as the “SMS of the internet.” It allows people, companies, and businesses to keep their followers and prospective customers updated on whatever is happening around them. In case you unknowingly or deliberately delete your X account, don’t worry; X offers you an option to reactivate your account if it’s still within 30 days of deactivation. If it’s past 30 days, X will permanently delete your account, after which the account can no longer be reactivated and you will have to create a new account instead.

1
Open the email account you linked with the X account. For instance, if you registered your Gmail address with the X account you want to reactivate, go to Gmail and log in.
2
Compose a new mail. Click the Compose button of your email provider, and in the subject line, enter “Restore my deactivated Twitter account.”
- In the To field, type in this email address: restore@twitter.com
- In the body of the mail, indicate why you need to restore your account. For instance, you can say the deactivation was temporary. Also, remember to indicate your X username.
3
Send the email and wait for X to reactivate your account. Once you send the email, X will add you to the list of those people waiting for their accounts to be restored. It will take around 4 weeks for your account to be restored. You will then receive an email notification from X informing you that your account is fully activated. You can now access the account by logging into it at the X website.
